HUMA 1315 The Arts in Contemporary Society: Unveiling Universal Arts This section of Humanities 1315 will be a survey course on contemporary art, examining a variety of artistic genres, the artists who create them, and whether they are "art" at all. This section counts as a standard section of HUMA 1315 and may not be repeated for credit even if taught with a different focus.This is a ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost) section. In place of required textbooks, all textbook materials needed for the class will be available online to students free of charge. Students may print copies of the resources but will be responsible for printing costs. Course materials may be Open Educational Resources (OER), see syllabus for specifics.

Aesthetics in the Digital Age: This course examines art appreciation in contemporary society with a particular emphasis on digital media and how it is used to create, transmit, store, and view art. This class will examine how digital technology and unlimited access have changed how society perceives, appreciates, and creates art. This section counts as a standard section of HUMA 1315 and may not be repeated for credit even if taught with a different focus. This class will be supported by an Embedded Academic Coach and an Embedded Tutor, subject to availability.
DLS (Synchronous Virtual Class Meetings Required). Course instruction is online. Course instruction includes required real-time virtual class meetings at the days and times listed. Tests will be taken online. Some tests may require proctoring. Students can access online proctoring on their own computer for free. Online courses eliminate geography as a factor.
